As you take mindful breaths of the crisp winter air during your hike in Skigastein and listen to the satisfying crunch of snow beneath your feet, you’ll truly immerse yourself in the winter experience. The Panoramaweg Schlossalmblick trail offers a captivating perspective of the scenic surroundings. As you raise your gaze, a splendid winter panorama unfolds before you. So, slip on your cosy winter boots, wrap up in your scarf and gloves, and set out on your tranquil journey into the snowy paradise high atop Schlossalm!
A must for those who love stunning scenic views: On the 2.2-kilometre hiking trail, you’ll walk through Schlossalm’s picturesque snowy landscape for approximately 1.5 hours, ultimately arriving at the Schlossalmblick viewing platform. Starting from the mountain station of the Schlossalmbahn cable car, your winter hike will lead you past Kleine Scharte mountain restaurant and the identically named mountain saddle at 2,052 metres above sea level. Please note: The Panoramaweg trail intersects the ski slopes on Schlossalm in a few spots – and in these areas, skiers hold the right of way. We kindly request pedestrians to exercise caution. Towards the end of the tour, you’ll also come upon Hofgasteiner Haus, a welcoming hut where you can warm up and refuel.
