Ski & Golf Competition

The original idea of the Ski & Golf Competition was to celebrate the transition between winter and summer sports in one event. The Gastein Valley offers perfect conditions for this, which are virtually unique in Salzburger Land. There is still plenty of snow on the mountains at almost 2,700 meters in mid-April, while a perfectly cultivated green is already guaranteed in the valley.

Numerous participants come from home and abroad every year to compete for the coveted champion title and the Gastein Silver Jug at the International Ski & Golf Competition. The venue for the Golf Challenge is the Gastein Golf Club, one of the oldest and most traditional golf clubs in Austria. The International Ski & Golf Competition was held for the first time in 1969. From the very beginning, former sports stars were invited to compete in skiing and golf together with the participating amateur athletes. Seven-time world champion and three-time Olympic champion Toni Sailer won the very first tournament.

Date:  April 11 until 13, 2025

PROGRAM:

Friday, April 11, 2025 Arrival and check-in at the hotel,
Training day/free golfing for the participants,
Get-together with snacks in the clubhouse from approx. 6.30 p.m. as well as race briefing and general information
Saturday, April 12, 2025 Morning
Giant slalom in Sportgastein for all participants and distribution of HEAD test skis
(optionally all participants can do a second run - the better one counts)
Afternoon
Live music on the terrace of the Goldbergbahnen in Sportgastein or golf clinic with Head Pro Adam Fisher on the driving range, free play of golf
Evening
6.30 p.m. Dinner in the 2-toque restaurant Weitmoser Schlössl Hofgastein with ‘finale’ at the castle bar
Sunday, April 13, 2025 Start of the 2-person Texas Scramble Golf Competition on the 18-hole course
Lunch after the round in the clubhouse followed by the award ceremony
