Operating hours of the Gastein cable cars
The mountains are calling, and adventure awaits – whether it’s on the snow-covered slopes or sun-kissed hiking trails. To make it easy for you to plan your stay in Skigastein, we have listed the operating hours of the cable cars of Gastein for you. The number of lifts depends on the snow conditions.

Operating hours of the cable cars at Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel ski resort
The family-friendly ski resort is the largest interconnected ski area of Skigastein, boasting varied slopes for all skill levels. Highly efficient: The network of lifts and cable cars operates at the following season times:
- Ski area connection Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel: from Friday, December 13, 2024 to Sunday, April 06, 2025 daily
- Partial operation on the Schlossalm ski area from Friday, November 29, 2024
- Partial operation on the Stubnerkogel ski area from Wednesday, December 4, 2024
- Trainings area Ski center Angertal with GASTI Park: from Saturday, December 7, 2024 to April 06, 2025 daily
Operating time daily from 8.30 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
Operating time until January 31, 2024: from 8.30 a.m. until 3.30 p.m.
Operating hours of the cable cars in Sportgastein
At the ski area and freeride paradise of Sportgastein, Goldbergbahn cable car and Kreuzkogellift take you up to the starting points of many great slopes and off-piste routes.
Ski area Sportgastein: from Saturday, December 21, 2024 to Thursday, May 1st 2025
- Open daily from Saturday, December 21, 2024 to Sunday, April 27, 2025
- Open on Thursday, May 1st 2025
Operating time daily from 8.45 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
Operating time until January 31, 2024: from 8.45 a.m. until 3.30 p.m.
Operating hours of the lifts at Graukogel, the natural-snow ski resort
At Graukogel ski resort, you can hop on Graukogelbahn or Reichebenlift to get to the starting point of your snow adventure – from Thursday to Sunday.
We very much regret that we will not be able to open the natural snow ski area Graukogel as planned on December 26, 2025 due to the current poor natural snow conditions. As soon as the snow situation improves, we will inform you immediately about further operations on the Graukogel.
Ski area Graukogel: ski season start with sufficient snow conditions, operation planed until Sunday, March 23, 2025 - open from Thursday to Sunday
Operating time daily from 9.00 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
Operating time until January 31, 2024: from 9.00 a.m. until 3.30 p.m.
Operating hours of the cable cars at Dorfgastein-Großarltal ski resort
You can swoosh down the beginner-friendly slopes of Dorfgastein-Großarltal ski resort. Take a seat in the comfy cabins of Gipfelbahn Fulseck cable car or Panoramabahn cable car and conveniently ride up to the starting points of many great slopes.
Ski area connection Dorfgastein-Großarltal: from Friday December 6, 2024 until Sunday, March 30, 2025 open daily
Operating time from 8.30 a.m. until 4.00 p.m.
Slope closure in Skigastein
The ski slopes of the Schlossalm - Angertal - Stubnerkogel ski area are open from 8:30 a.m., on the Graukogel and in Sportgastein from 9:00 a.m.. Depending on the location of the ski slope and the time of year, the ski slopes are closed from 4:00 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m.
Skiing on or entering the slopes during this time is prohibited! Exceptions apply for evening ski tours and early morning skiing.

- On 20th January 2025, the Aeroplan toboggan run will be closed. It reopens on 21st January 2025.
- Every Wednesday starting January 8, 2025: Early Morning Skiing on the Schlossalm or Stubnerkogel.
